A farm map whiteboard is a useful tool when using Grasshopper and planning rotations. It allows you to accurately display and monitor the grass yield on a paddock by paddock basis.
What you get
The whiteboard standard size is A0 – although you can order any size you wish or multiples for display in more than one location. The board is wall mountable. Once your farm is mapped and unlikely to change you can order the whiteboard online or by calling the office.

how the Farm Map Whiteboard Is Utilised
Paddock Names
Paddocks are named during the mapping process and the shorter the name used the better as it is easier to read on the wedge graphic. Paddock names should be the same as those used for an online database such as PastureBase Ireland.
Whiteboards Communicate
The ability to record paddock notes, livestock location, and tasks to be completed on the whiteboard is a quick and reliable way to communicate important information in a clear manner to everybody working on the farm.
Production Areas
When the paddocks are mapped with Grasshopper care should be taken to include only the productive area. This will give a more accurate result when the cover is taken on your grass walks. The paddock areas are reported in hectares.
Rotation Planner
A two-week erasable rotation planner is included on the whiteboard. Use this to communicate the grazing plan for this week and the week ahead. Use an erasable marker to update the grazing plan based on the latest grass walk.
